Spiritual Leadership

To complete our mission, the deep work of the Holy Spirit in the life of every official worker and church leader is an absolute necessity. “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thes. 5:22-23). The Spirit’s dominance in the whole of our leaders’ lives will determine the quality of ministry in the local church. Toward this end we will encourage the whole-life health of every leader in the district.

The primary means by which the District invests in developing Spiritual Leadership of its licensed workers is through 3KEYCOACHING relationships.  There are many opportunities for seminars, skill development, and leadership growth in our world, but there are few and limited opportunities for deep coaching and mentoring that focuses us on hearing from God Himself.

Spiritual health and maturity are prerequisites for excellent leadership. The core values of the District reflect what a spiritual leadership will look like in his/her priorities.

  • Lost people matter to God. He wants them found.  The worker will be actively living selflessly to reach one’s neighbors.
  • Prayer is the primary work of God’s people.  The worker will have a vital and active prayer life that includes hearing the voice of God.
  • Knowing and obeying God’s Word is the secret to all true success. The worker will be saturated in the Word and vitality will be experienced daily.
  • Everything we have belongs to God. We are his stewards. The worker will be dying to self and coming more and more alive to the mission of God.
  • God has called us to faith filled risks that always involve change.  The worker will overcome fears including the fear of man and will be obedient even in difficult things.
  • Completing the Great Commission will require the mobilization of every fully devoted disciple.  The worker will not be content with partial commitment of a few, but be devoted to making disciples that are fully engaged in the mission.
  • Without the Holy Spirit’s empowerment, we can accomplish nothing.  The worker will seek to walk in the awareness of the Spirit’s presence and power.

Coaching focuses us on these results by answering three key questions:

  1.  Am I becoming more like Christ?
  2. What is Christ calling me to do?
  3. How will I be obedient to that call?

How do I get involved in 3KeyCoaching?

If you are interested in knowing more about coaching or you are interested in having a 3KeyCoach, please contact your RTL (Regional Team Leader).  They will be able to assist you in the process and get started.

3KeyCoaching for Spouses of Pastors

Spouses of pastors are critical leaders as well in the life of the local church.  For this reason, 3KeyCoaching leaders are being developed for spouses as well.  Our capacity is currently limited but growing.  Speak with your RTL about what may currently be available to you.

Spiritual Leadership is also built in community so the District will seek to encourage community groups of workers.  The Regional Team Leader of each Region is the person to speak to if you don’t have access to this kind of community.

Spiritual Leadership can also be facilitated by mentors who excel in different areas.  The District will bring in these leaders to share their areas of expertise and knowledge with other leaders.  The District will also invest in sending leaders for training so that they can share that learning with the District workers, thus building greater capacity for ongoing development.
